FAQs - Elies Biotech

Question 1

What is a microbial bioculture?

Accepted Answer

A microbial bioculture is a carefully formulated consortium of beneficial microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, or algae) designed to perform specific biological functions such as degrading organic pollutants, reducing BOD/COD, controlling odours, or producing biogas. ELIES Biotech's biocultures are precision-engineered for wastewater treatment applications.

Question 2

How do biocultures work in wastewater treatment?

Accepted Answer

Biocultures work by introducing high concentrations of specialized microorganisms into the treatment system. These microbes consume organic pollutants as their food source, breaking them down into harmless by-products like CO2 and water. This accelerates the natural biological treatment process and improves overall plant performance.

Question 3

Are ELIES Biotech's products safe for the environment?

Accepted Answer

Yes, all our products are 100% biodegradable and non-toxic. They contain naturally occurring microorganisms that are safe for people, animals, and the environment. Our products are manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified processes, ensuring the highest quality and environmental standards.

Question 4

How quickly will I see results after applying biocultures?

Accepted Answer

Results vary depending on the application and existing conditions. For ETP/STP applications, you can typically see improvements in BOD/COD reduction within 7-14 days of application. For septic tank care, odour reduction is often noticeable within 3-5 days. Our technical team will provide specific timelines based on your system parameters.

Question 5

Can biocultures replace chemicals in wastewater treatment?

Accepted Answer

Biocultures can significantly reduce chemical usage in wastewater treatment. While some chemical processes may still be required for specific applications (like pH adjustment or coagulation), our biocultures can often reduce or eliminate the need for chemical coagulants, defoamers, and other treatment chemicals, leading to cost savings and a more eco-friendly process.

Question 6

Do you offer customized bioculture solutions?

Accepted Answer

Yes, customization is our core strength. We analyze your effluent parameters, treatment system design, and performance targets to develop a bioculture formulation specifically optimized for your application. Our technical team provides ongoing support to ensure optimal results.

Question 7

What certifications does ELIES Biotech hold?

Accepted Answer

ELIES Biotech Private Limited is certified under ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), and MSME ZED Bronze (Zero Defect Zero Effect). We have also received multiple national and international awards for innovation and sustainability.

Question 8

How should biocultures be stored?

Accepted Answer

Our biocultures should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Liquid formulations should be stored between 4-25°C. Powder formulations should be kept in sealed containers in a dry environment. Specific storage instructions are provided with each product. Shelf life is typically 12-24 months from the date of manufacture.

Question 9

Do you provide technical support after purchase?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we provide comprehensive technical support including application guidance, dosing recommendations, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting. Our team of experienced microbiologists and environmental engineers is available to assist you throughout the implementation and operation of our bioculture solutions.

Question 10

Can I order products online?

Accepted Answer

Yes, our domestic septic tank care products and select bioculture products are available through our D2C Shop. For industrial-scale biocultures and customized formulations, please contact our sales team for a consultation and quotation.
